Emotional Intelligence Assessment Scale | A Comprehensive EQ Testing Tool
I. Test Overview
This Emotional Intelligence Assessment Scale contains 20 questions, comprehensively evaluating an individual's emotional intelligence level from four core dimensions: Emotional Self-Awareness, Emotional Expression and Management, Cognitive Thinking Patterns, and Perception of Others' Emotions and Empathy. The scale uses a 5-point scoring system. Through the subjects' self-evaluation of their own behavioral performance, it quantitatively analyzes their ability characteristics in emotion recognition, expression, management, and interpersonal interaction.
II. Core Assessment Dimensions
- Emotional Self-Awareness: Assesses the ability to perceive one's own emotions, including identifying emotion types (e.g., distinguishing sadness from anger), perceiving emotional intensity, and understanding the root causes of emotions (Corresponding to Questions 1-4)
- Emotional Expression and Management: Measures the appropriateness of emotional expression and emotional regulation ability, including the ability to express emotions clearly, handle negative emotions appropriately, and self-motivate (Corresponding to Questions 5-8, 12)
- Cognitive Thinking Patterns: Analyzes cognitive tendencies towards interpersonal relationships and self-behavior, assessing the presence of negative attribution or fixed thinking patterns (Corresponding to Questions 9-11)
- Perception of Others' Emotions and Empathy: Tests the ability to recognize others' emotional signals (body language, facial expressions, verbal cues), as well as the capacity for perspective-taking and accepting different viewpoints (Corresponding to Questions 13-20)
III. Scoring and Result Interpretation
The total score range of the scale is 20-100 points (1-5 points per question), divided into four levels based on the score:
- 20-44 points: EQ Needs Improvement - Significant room for improvement in emotional cognition and interpersonal perception
- 45-65 points: Good EQ - Possesses basic emotional management skills, performs stably in familiar settings
- 66-85 points: Excellent EQ - Can provide high emotional value to others, harmonious interpersonal relationships
- 86-100 points: Outstanding EQ - Possesses mature emotional regulation and interpersonal interaction patterns
IV. Test Features and Value
This scale has the following features:
- Self-Report Assessment: Reflects the subject's cognition of their own emotional patterns through authentic feedback
- Multi-Dimensional Comprehensiveness: Covers the complete chain of emotional processing (Cognition - Expression - Management - Empathy)
- Practical Guidance: Result descriptions provide targeted improvement suggestions that can be directly applied to daily life
The test results can help individuals identify specific directions for improving emotional intelligence, optimize interpersonal communication patterns, enhance emotional resilience, and are particularly suitable for professionals, students, and groups wishing to improve intimate relationships.
V. Important Notes
When taking the test, please answer based on your first reaction, avoiding overthinking or choosing the "expected answer" to obtain a truly effective assessment result. Emotional intelligence is a dynamically developing ability. Regardless of the current score, it can be gradually improved through targeted exercises (such as emotion journaling and empathy training). The results of this test are for reference only and do not constitute a basis for professional psychological diagnosis.
