Life Script Simulation | Who Will Share the Second Half of Your Life?

I. What Is 'Life Script Simulation'?

'Life script simulation' is not simple fortune-telling or prediction, but a kind of tool based on Life Course Theory for psychological assessment. It focuses on the key turning points at different life stages, shifts in social roles, and the dynamic evolution of interpersonal relationships.

This test aims to explore: over the long years ahead, which types of people are most likely to become the 'long-term anchors' in your life. Is it an intimate partner, your family of origin, a like-minded close friend, or the ever-stronger 'self'?

II. Theoretical Basis: Trajectories, Transitions, and Connections

This test is built mainly on the following two classic theories from psychology and sociology:

  • Life Course Theory (Glen H. Elder Jr.): This theory holds that an individual's life is a chain made up of a series of 'trajectories' (long-term life paths such as career and marriage) and 'transitions' (short-term key events such as graduation, moving, and illness). By analyzing your attitudes toward these turning points, we predict your future relationship patterns.
  • Social Convoy Theory: Proposed by Kahn and Antonucci, it holds that throughout life a person is surrounded by different layers of a 'convoy.' The inner layer is usually partners and close kin, the middle layer is friends and colleagues, and the outer layer is the social support network. This test assesses which level of connection you are more inclined to maintain.

III. The Five Core Dimensions of This Test

To accurately simulate the script of your second half of life, we designed 18 scenario questions across five key psychological dimensions:

  • Attachment Security: Do you feel secure in intimate relationships? This determines how much weight a partner holds in your life.
  • Sense of Family Boundaries: As an adult, are you closely fused with your family of origin or independently differentiated? This determines your family's level of involvement.
  • Social Openness: Are you willing to engage in deep self-disclosure in friendships? This determines the number and quality of your close friends.
  • Tolerance for Being Alone: How do you view loneliness? Can you draw energy rather than anxiety from being alone? This determines the possibility of 'thriving on your own.'
  • Crisis-Coping Pattern: When you face a major upheaval, do you seek support outward or process it inward on your own?

IV. Purpose of the Test and Who It Is For

This test suits everyone curious about their future relationship patterns or currently standing at a crossroads in life:

  • Young people thinking about whether to marry or enter a long-term relationship
  • People who feel disconnected from others and want to rebuild their social circle
  • People facing family pressure who are trying to find space for independence
  • People who fear or calmly accept the idea of growing old alone

V. Scoring and Result Interpretation

Each question is scored 1-5, representing a range from 'strongly disagree' to 'strongly agree.' Based on your weighted scores across the five dimensions, the system calculates the four most likely directions for your life script: Soulmate Type, Family-Tie Type, Close-Friends Alliance Type, or Lone Ranger Type. Note that most people tend to be a mix of types; this test reveals your most central dominant pattern.
