Sexual Orientation Tendency Test | Explore Your Emotional and Attraction Patterns
I. What Is Sexual Orientation Tendency?
Sexual orientation is not a black-and-white binary label, but a continuous spectrum. It describes a person's stable tendencies in emotional, romantic, and sexual attraction, including the degree of attraction to the same sex, the opposite sex, or both. This tendency is often reflected in long-term emotional connection preferences rather than a single momentary feeling.
It is worth noting that sexual orientation is not equivalent to sexual behavior or gender identity. A person may never have had sexual activity, or may have a self-identity different from their biological sex, but this does not change their inner attraction tendency.
II. Theoretical Basis: The Klein Sexual Orientation Grid
This test mainly references the theory proposed by psychologist Fritz Klein, the 'Klein Sexual Orientation Grid.'Unlike the traditional single-dimension division, Klein believed that sexual orientation should include multiple dimensions and is fluid over a person's lifetime.
Klein divided sexual orientation into seven dimensions, and this test focuses on three of its core aspects:
- Sexual Attraction: What kind of people are you attracted to?
- Emotional Preference: Who are you more likely to develop deep attachment and affection for?
- Social Preference: With whom are you more willing to build an intimate social connection?
III. The Four Assessment Dimensions of This Test
To depict your tendencies more finely, we have translated the above theory into four specific observation dimensions, with 18 questions in total:
- Aesthetic and Attention Preference: In daily observation, which type of person does your gaze and attention more easily rest on?
- Emotional Resonance and Attachment: When you long to be understood, cared for, or want to confide, whose company do you tend to seek?
- Romantic Fantasy and Projection: In your imagination or fictional stories, what features does the ideal partner image usually have?
- Intimacy Boundaries and Comfort: In physical contact or deep communication with others, what state feels most natural and relaxed to you?
IV. Purpose and Target Audience of the Test
This test aims to help you more objectively perceive your inner tendencies rather than to label you. It is especially suitable for:
- People confused about their emotional experiences who want to clarify their thoughts
- People in a stage of self-exploration who want to understand themselves more deeply
- People who want to understand the diversity of the sexual orientation spectrum
- People who want to better communicate their emotional needs with a partner or friends
V. Scoring Method and Result Interpretation
Each question is scored on a 1-5 Likert scale, from 'does not fit at all' to 'fits completely.' Based on your weighted scores across the four dimensions, the system comprehensively analyzes your tendency distribution, classifies you into a specific emotional connection type, and provides personalized self-exploration suggestions.
