Outlook on Life Test | Explore Your Attitude Toward Life and Value Orientation

1. What Is an Outlook on Life?

An outlook on life is a person's fundamental view and attitude toward "what life is, why we live, and how to live." It determines how you understand happiness, success, setbacks, and choices, and it also influences your career direction, relationships, and lifestyle.

A mature outlook on life usually includes four core questions:

  • Where do I think the meaning of life comes from?
  • What kind of life do I consider a "good life"?
  • How will I face difficulties when I encounter them?
  • What is my relationship with others and with society?

2. What Is a Relatively Healthy Outlook on Life?

An outlook on life has no absolute "right" or "wrong," but there is a difference between "more mature" and "less mature." A relatively healthy outlook on life usually has the following characteristics:

  • Being able to find a balance between pursuing yourself and caring for others
  • Accepting the limits of reality while being willing to work for a better future
  • Not easily denying yourself when facing setbacks, but learning from them
  • Having your own understanding of the meaning of life rather than drifting with the crowd

3. The Four Dimensions of This Test

This test is designed around the four core dimensions of the outlook on life, with 10 questions in total:

  • Orientation Toward the Meaning of Life: What do you think matters most in life? Is it enjoyment, achievement, relationships, or contribution?
  • Attitude Toward Life: Do you lean more toward actively creating or toward stability and comfort?
  • Coping with Setbacks: When facing failure, do you avoid it, complain, or adjust and keep going?
  • Interpersonal Value Orientation: When making choices, do you value personal gain more, or relationships and long-term value?

4. Purpose and Target Audience

This test is for people who want to explore their own attitude toward life, especially:

  • People at a turning point in life who feel lost about the future
  • People who want to improve self-awareness and their attitude toward life
  • People who want to understand their own behavior patterns and decision-making style
  • People interested in psychology and the philosophy of life

5. How Scoring Works

Each question is scored 1–5, from "negative/conservative" to "positive/open." The system first calculates your scores on the four dimensions, then, based on the total score and the combination of dimensions, gives you your overall outlook-on-life type and personalized growth advice.
