An Introduction to the Animal Archetype Test
I. Origins and Core Concept of the Test
The Animal Archetype Test draws on Jung's theory of collective unconscious archetypes, and its core idea is to precisely map humanity's deep personality instincts onto the primal traits of typical animals in nature. Each animal archetype represents a universally present form of personality energy - such as the lion's leadership, the fox's wisdom, or the dolphin's empathy - making abstract subconscious traits concrete and tangible.
This test is built on 6 classic animal archetypes (Lion, Fox, Owl, Dolphin, Wolf, and Deer) and uses 30 in-depth scenario questions to explore, across 5 dimensions - behavior patterns, emotional responses, thinking preferences, conflict handling, and decision-making style - your core archetype and hidden traits, helping you achieve deep self-understanding and growth.

III. Test Principle and Scoring Logic
The test follows the core logic of 'scenario projection → trait extraction → archetype matching.' Each question corresponds to the core traits of a specific animal archetype and is scored on a 5-point scale (1 - Completely disagree to 5 - Completely agree), and the total score for each of the 6 animal archetypes is calculated separately:
- Lion Archetype (6 questions): focused on leadership, decisiveness, sense of purpose, and desire for control
- Fox Archetype (6 questions): focused on flexibility, social skill, adaptability, and strategic thinking
- Owl Archetype (5 questions): focused on rationality, attention to detail, perfectionism, and insight
- Dolphin Archetype (5 questions): focused on empathy, friendliness, willingness to listen, and valuing relationships
- Wolf Archetype (4 questions): focused on teamwork, loyalty, resilience, and self-sacrifice
- Deer Archetype (4 questions): focused on reserve, serenity, spirit, and conflict avoidance
For a fair comparison, all archetype scores are converted to a uniform 25-point scale (5 points per question). The archetype with the highest match becomes your core result: ≥70% is a strong match (core archetype), 50%-69% is a weak match (hidden archetype), and 30%-49% is a latent trait, making the results both insightful and useful as a reference.
IV. Use Cases and Value
🔹 Deep Self-Understanding
Explore the core personality instincts within your subconscious and understand the underlying logic of your behavior patterns - for example, 'why I always can't help taking charge' (Lion Archetype) or 'why I care more about others' feelings' (Dolphin Archetype).
🔹 Career Planning
Match suitable career paths to your archetype traits - for instance, the Lion Archetype suits management roles, the Owl Archetype suits technical and professional roles, and the Fox Archetype suits business and social roles.
🔹 Improving Relationships
Understand how well you and others match by archetype - for example, how 'Lion × Dolphin' complement each other or how 'Fox × Owl' collaborate - to build greater rapport in intimate relationships and workplace cooperation.
🔹 Personal Growth
Get targeted growth advice based on the strengths and shortcomings of your archetype traits - for example, Lion archetypes need to improve their listening skills, while Deer archetypes need to strengthen their sense of boundaries.
V. Test Notes
- Answer according to how you truly feel inside, without deliberately chasing the 'ideal personality'; your subconscious first reaction reflects your core archetype more accurately
- The test takes about 5-8 minutes; it is best completed in a quiet environment without distractions that could affect the authenticity of your answers
- No animal archetype is better or worse than another; each has its own unique value and growth lessons, and the results are meant for deep self-exploration
- The combination of core and hidden archetypes reflects your personality more completely, so there is no need to overthink the score on any single dimension
