Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) | Unlock Your Innovation Potential

I. What is the TTCT?

The Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) were developed in 1966 by E. P. Torrance, known as 'the father of creativity education'. It is among the most widely used and authoritative creativity assessment tools in the world, mainly measuring an individual'sdivergent thinking.

This test is an online adaptation of the classic TTCT dimensions. Through a series of scenario simulations, it assesses the liveliness and originality of your thinking when facing open-ended questions.

II. Core assessment dimensions

Creativity is not a single ability but a weave of the following four dimensions:

  • Fluency: the ability to generate many ideas in a short time - the 'output' of thinking.
  • Flexibility: the ability to step outside fixed paradigms and think from different angles and categories.
  • Originality: the ability to produce unusual, novel, and unique insights - the power to 'break the deadlock'.
  • Elaboration: the ability to supplement, polish, and deepen details on top of a basic idea.

III. About the test

The scale contains 15 scenario items simulating the TTCT's classic verbal and figural imagination tasks:

  • Choose the option that best matches your real thinking habits, based on your first instinct.
  • There are no absolutely right or wrong answers; a high score doesn't mean higher IQ - it means your thinking leans more exploratory than executive.
  • Note:This test is an online adaptation based on the TTCT framework, not the clinical paper-and-pencil instrument.

IV. Scoring and result preview

The system uses a multi-weighted algorithm: the more an option leans toward 'breaking convention' and 'adding detail', the higher the score. Based on your performance, the final result is grouped into:Logical Executor, Balanced Strategist, and Cross-Domain Innovator.
